The First Album You "Borrowed"

When thinking of Rock n Roll.... you gotta think of the firsts. Mostly... YOUR firsts. Specifically the first album you "borrowed".

Maybe it was forecer borrowed. Or temporarily. Or you forgot to ever return it. I'm not judging. I am curious what it was.

For me it was the J. Geils Band's Bloodshot. It was another album I took from my dad's library. Thing was, when I took it... I didn't have a record player. In fact, we didn't have functioning record player in entire house. They had fallen victim to kid related mishaps years earlier.

One year my folks got me a record player for Christmas and everything changed. The opening track of Bloodshot changed my life... a big statement but not an overstatement. This was the song that got me into rock. And also was the song my dad saw me pretending to be a DJ to. So I guess some dreams do become reality.

What was the first album you borrowed? Send me an email at patrick@ckrw.com

Oh, and here's Ain't Nothin But A House Party. Enjoy!
