Arctic Winter Games Recap - Day 3

Team Yukon wining medals in mixed relay - (Don White Twitter)

Team Yukon picked up 29 medals on Day 3 of competition.

Team Yukon were collecting ulus all day on the third day of competition. 29 to be exact. 

Yukon has 16 gold, 25 silver and 16 bronze. Alaska is running away with the medal count, with 108.

Katie Vowk scored a silver medal in Alpine skiing, with the final event taking place on Day 4, which will be Parallel Slalom. 

Anisa Albisser and Payton Fobe each won silver in arm pull, while Fayne O’Donovan took home bronze.

The Yukon boys dropped their basketball game to NWT 89-53.

The girls dropped their match to the Northwest Territories, 60-28.

In ski biathlon, Yukon secured 1 gold,  2 silver, and 1 bronze.

Snowshoe Biathlon saw Yukon take  1 gold,  2 silver, and 1 bronze.

Simon Cash got a second gold in as many days in cross country skiing. 

Natalie Hynes won gold in Junior females while Hannah Deuling tied for silver.

Derek Deuling won silver in midget boys.

Yukon won 3 gold ulus in the Dene games. 

In futsal, Yukon grabbed a few wins on the day. 

Intermediate girls shutout the Northwest territories 3-0. before losing to Sapmi 5-4.

The junior boys beat Alberta North 1-0, before losing 2-0 to Greenland. 

Juvenile Girls and Boys both won their games, shutting out the opposition, 2-0 and 8-0 respectively.

Finally in wrestling, Yukon secured 6 ulus, 5 silver and one bronze.
