The rate is down from October of 2016 when it was three per cent.
The Rent Survey also indicates 10.9 per cent of bachelor units are sitting vacant in Whitehorse, but three to four bedroom units are the most popular and there are currently none available for rent.
Buildings with three or more units, such as apartment buildings, have a median rent of $950 a month, with units of all types showing a median rent of $1,000 a month.
Those prices have remained the same since April, 2017.
Average rents in Whitehorse for units in all types of buildings with rental units were further broken down as follows

There are 2,205 rental units in the city with apartment buildings being the most popular with 831 units.
