Yukon RCMP update search for missing Whitehorse woman

Police have called on the Yukon RCMP's Historical Case Unit to assist in the search effort.

Yukon RCMP is calling on the Historical Case Unit to assist in the search for a missing Whitehorse woman.

The three-week search for 28-year-old Ayla Sanders, also known by Ellah Rose Sanders, is now being focused in the Miles Canyon and Schwatka Lake areas of Whitehorse.

Police say search efforts include aerial, water and land searches with assistance from the Whitehorse Detachment.

Sanders was last seen leaving her home in downtown Whitehorse on April 17th, travelling by foot, wearing blue onesie pyjamas with white polar bears.

Sanders is described as five feet eight inches tall, weighing about 108 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.
