A lack of snow is forcing mushers to truck their teams between Braeburn and Carmacks.
The Yukon Quest is making major changes to the trail, and shortening this year's dog sled race due to poor conditions.
There's a low amount of snow between Braeburn and Carmacks, so teams will have to pack up and truck to Carmacks for a restart.
Organizers say mushers will have the choice of starting the race in Whitehorse with between eight and 14 dogs for the run to Braeburn.
Mushers will have 12 hours between their arrival in Braebrun, and the restart in Carmacks.
In Dawson, the dog yard will be located on Bonanza Road at the Campground for the second year in a row.
Officials say trail conditions continue to be reviewed, and more changes could be made to ensure the safety of all teams for the race which begins February 2nd.
