Yukon College creates senior First Nations position

Tosh Southwick is Yukon College's new Associate Vice President of Indigenous Engagement and Reconciliation.

A new position created by the employee committee on Indigenization at Yukon College has been filled.

Tosh Southwick of the Kluane First Nation has been named the Associate Vice President of Indigenous Engagement and Reconciliation with Yukon College.
 
The new position's goal is to strengthen relationships with the Yukon First Nation Governments and indigenous partners outside the Yukon.

Southwick says she is proud to share with other institutions how how the college works in partnership with Yukon First Nations, to meet their education and training needs.

College president Dr. Karen Barnes says by creating this new position, the College is committing further resources and energy to the important focus of reconciliation and Indigenization.
