Northern Nights Dark Sky Festival 2018
Friday, September 21st
Kluane National Park and Reserve and the Yukon Astronomical Society are excited to host the Northern Nights Dark Sky Festival, taking place Friday, September 21 and Saturday September 22, 2018 at the Kathleen Lake Day Use Area near Haines Junction. Now in its third year, Yukon’s only dark sky festival celebrates the wonders of the northern dark sky by involving festival goers in a variety of fun activities, including night sky photography, bat house building, First Nations traditional storytelling, music with Ryan McNally and Brigitte Dejardins, painting, and roasting bannock over the fire. As the sun fades away, Parks Canada and the Yukon Astronomical Society will invite visitors to gaze up and discover the wonders of the sky that surrounds us. Call 1-867-634-7207 to register for a workshop or to find out more information!
Price: Event is free; fees for workshops covers supplies
